How to delete your MasjidMap account, what is removed, and what stays on the map

Delete it in the app

The quickest way is from inside MasjidMap, while you are signed in:

  1. Open Account

    On the map screen, tap your account button

  2. Tap "Delete account"

    Read the message that appears

  3. Confirm

    Confirm the deletion. The app signs you out and you can keep browsing as a guest

Places you added stay on the map

Places, facilities and confirmations describe public places that other people rely on, so they stay on the map after you delete your account. They are no longer linked to you in any way. Your photos are deleted. See Terms of Service, clause 7.4.

What happens when you delete

This cannot be undone.

  • Deleted: your account, your name, email address and the link to your Google or Apple sign-in
  • Deleted: the photos you uploaded and the reports you sent
  • Kept without any link to you: the places, facilities and confirmations you added
  • On your device: saved places and recent searches stay until you clear them or uninstall the app
  • Deletion is completed within 30 days. Copies may remain in encrypted backups for a limited time, and we keep information only where the law requires it, as set out in our Privacy Policy

If you signed in with Apple, you can also stop using Sign in with Apple for MasjidMap in your iPhone's Settings, under your name, then Sign in with Apple. If you signed in with Google, you can remove MasjidMap's access in your Google Account under Security, then Your connections to third-party apps and services.

Delete by email

If you cannot open the app, email us and we will delete the account for you.

  1. Email karadumanburak000@gmail.com with the subject "Delete my MasjidMap account"
  2. Send it from the email address of the Google or Apple account you signed in with, or tell us that address. If you chose Hide My Email with Apple, the address is listed in your iPhone's Settings, under your name, then Sign in with Apple, then MasjidMap
  3. We may ask you to confirm the request from that address. We aim to reply within 30 days, and the reply confirms the deletion

Never signed in?

If you only browsed, there is no name or email address to delete. The guest account created for your installation is deleted automatically after 1 year without activity, and uninstalling the app removes your saved places and recent searches from your device.

Remove a single photo or place

To remove one photo or another contribution without deleting your account, email us with the place's name and location, and tell us what you want removed.
